My dog, Sandy, died yesterday. She was seventeen years old, and when we took her to the vet they said she must've been well loved because she was amazingly healthy for her age. I had been at the movies and got a call from my dad.

Apparently, both dogs had gotten out through the side gate and were chasing birds in the street. Sandy was going deaf and must not have heard the car. She was hit, but that wasn't what killed her. She wasn't too badly hurt, but Sandy got so scared she had a heart attack.

I cried so hard last night that this morning I looked like a puffer fish. I loved her so much.
